The Putaruru Town Board hereby gives notice that a Proclamation has been gazetted granting the request of the Board for the taking of certain lands in the Putaruru Town District which Proclamation is in the words and figures following:— Land taken for the purposes of a Road in Blocks VI. and X., Patetere North Survey District, Putaruru Town District. £L.S.] CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General. A PROCLAMATION. In pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road ; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the sixteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine. SCHEDULE. Approximate areas of the pieces of land taken:— a. r. p. Being Portion of 0 3 23 Mangakaretu Block No. 1, Block VI. 0 3 23 I Mangakaretu Block No. 2 3 16 f 1, Blocks VI. and X. 22 34 (Mangakaretu Block No. 0 3 25.5 ) 1, Block X. Situated in Patetere North Survey District. (Auckland R.D.). (S.O. 25058.) In the Auckland Land District ; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 77030, deposited in the Office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red. Dear Sir, — I have to thank the Bank of New Zealand Putaruru staff for producing the undermentioned cheques marked (wages) and endorsed by Adamson ; thereby enabling me to successfully defend the abovementioned action. Started Work on 13th April, 1929, at 30/- Per Week. 13th April to 20th April, 1 week paid by cheque, £l/10/-. 20th April to 4th May, 2 weeks paid by cheque, £3. 4th May to 18th May, 2 weeks paid 29/5/29, £3. 18th May to Ist June, 2 weeks paid, £3. Ist June to 29th June, 4 weeks paid on 22/6/29, £6. Wages Increased to 35/- Per Week. 29th June to 27th July, 4 weeks, £7. 27th July to 24th August, 4 weeks paid on 29/8/29, £7. This cheque was for £6/2/-, being less 18/- store account admitted and cheque returned. Notice given by Adamson on 24th August, and he left on 26th without serving his notice. Amount therefore owing and paid into Court, £6-2/-. First payment was for £l/17/6 on 20th April, 7/6 being money owing to Adamson by Halse and paid on his account by me.
