GIRL GUIDES.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Putaturu Girl Guides* Association was held on Monday evening, when Mrs. D. D. Sneddon presided over a large attendance. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mrs. Sneddon; vice-presidents, Mesdames A. G. Leggett, Walter Barnett, (j. Francis; secretary,. Mrs. F. C. Flyger; treasurer, Mrs. C. C. Neal; committee, Mesdames E. H. Atkey, E. F. Halse, J. K. O. Lochhead, H. J. W. Scott, D. Duff, Baldwin and A. George. The Guides are giving a Christmas party for the mothers and committee members, and an invitation was extended to the retiring and present members to be present at the function. It was decided to invite the District Commissioner to be present. and present the badges. The Methodist Church trustees
were accorded a vote of thanks for the use of the hall, and a similar appreciative vote was given to all who had assisted the movement during the year
