Flat rate, L.H. and P. and excess, £3BJJ24 10s (£32,614 6s 6d); ovens, £2183 0s 4d (£1685 18s 3d); waterheaters, £3OBO 15s 5d (£2603 17s sd); meters (L.H. and P.), £15,369 14s 7d (£14,335 2s 4d); street lighting, £586 (£556 3s); towns, maximum demand, £2886 5s 7d (£2643 12s 9d); factories and industrial, £2015 12s 8d (£2767 13s 7d); trading, £SOO (£750); sundries, £586 10s 4d (£1341 5s 8d); power purchases, £20,356 11s 8d (£18,875 5s 8d); interest and sinking fund, £27,811 15s (£25,623); administration, £5950 10s 7d (£5104 11s sd); maintenance, etc., £5633 18s 7d (£5305 2s 4d); tree planting and motor upkeep, £1770 15s 8d (£1930 Is 3d); depreciation, £2500 (£2500); discounts, £4245 12s (£3909 7s 3d). an. the comparisons for the two yj|)rs it would be noticed that power purchases had increased to the extent Of £l4Bl, administration £846 (being amounts from loan fund and trading department), maintenance and replacements £328, and a decided reduction had been made in motor upkeep, due to the replacement of old vehicles, said the manager. Interest and sinking funds showed an increase of £2IBB, the whole of the interest and sinking funds being now paid by power fund account, no amounts being charged to loan fund. It was very difficult during the present change-over from flat rate to meters to obtain the actual revenue fgk a period of the year, owing to the readings now being two-monthly. A number of flat rate consumers ■were put on meters during the last quarter, and the meter readings were now coming to hand. The units per annum per cow taken from meter readings averaged 24. This average was taken from the six weeks ending end of October. However, it was very difficult at the present time to make any comparisons as regards milking and lighting, but one very noticeable feature was the cost of electric ranges which were previously on flat rate, the meter charges hning much cheaper and in some cJEs being 50 per cent less on metetß than the old rate. From a number of ranges that had been on ‘‘meters for the past two months the \average cost did not exceed 5s per /week. i j
