ELECTION OF DIRECTORS. Old Board Returned. The returning officer, Mr. T. E. McMillan, has supplied the following figures in connection with the election of directors for the Hinuera Co-operative Dairy Company, which took place last week:— . Successful.

It will be recalled that at an ex- ! traordinary meeting of shareholders held recently a request was made by | the meeting that the directors resign j in a body and contest an election, j This was conveyed to the board by j deputation, and all the members con- j cerned agreed to the proposal with the exception of Mr. Ivan Black, who held resolutely to his view that there was no general demand for an election, and that having been constitutionally elected he saw no reason for acceding to the request. Consequently Mr. Black was the only director who did not resign and he thus still retains his seat on the board. f The result of the election clearly proves that the board of directors have the .confidence of the majority of shareholders, for all of those who resigned were re-elected excepting Messrs. Hopkins and C. H. Pond, who retired. ,
