Wedding Bells.

JONES—ABBOTT. A pretty wedding was solemnised by Rev. F. W. Wilkes in St. Matthew’s (Anglican) Church, Morrinsville, on Wednesday, when Mr. David Jones, second son of Mr. and Mrs. T. O. Jones, Coronation road, Morrinsville, was married to Miss Lillian Marcella Jones ‘Abbott, of Wellington, late of London. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of Mr. H. J. Clifford, of Morrinsviile, wore a frock of white radium lace with flared skirt and uneven hemline with pointed handkerchief flares. Her embroidered tulle I veil fell from a wreath of orange blossom, and she carried a beautiful shower bouquet of freesias and arum ’ lilies interwoven with maidenhair fern. The chief bridesmaid was Miss Violet Abbott, sister of the bride, whose frock was of sea-green crepe de chine and silver lame with tulle headdress to tone. The second bridesmaid was Miss Margaret Jones, sister of the bridegroom, who chose pale pink crepe de chine with tulle headdress. Both bridesmaids carried bouquets of pink and white azaleas and freesias and wore necklaces of brilliants, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. T. Parlour carried out the duties of best man and Mr. R. Robinson those of groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bridegroom’s parents, Mrs. Jones wearing a frock of bois de rose embossed crepe de chine. Mrs. R- J. Jones wore mauve crepe de chine, and Miss Jones wore mauve satin. The couple later left for their honeymoon, which is to be spent at Rotorua. The bride travelled in a dress of green silk marocain with fox fur. Mr. and Mrs. Jones will take up their residence in Morrinsviile.

FAUSETT—BROOKS. Knox Presbyterian Church, Morrinsviile, was the scene of a pretty wedding on Thursday, when Miss Dorothy Fausett, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Fausett, Kurunui, was married to Mr. Joseph S. Brooks, third son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Brooks, Paeroa.. Rev. J. H. Starnes officiated. The bride’s dress was of ivory crepe de chine finished with side effects of silk lace and hand-made ornaments with streamers and silk rosebuds. Her prettily-embroidered veil fell from a circlet of orange blossom. The bride’s bouquet was of pure • white roses, lily of the valley, white forget-me-nots and orange blossom. Miss Eileen Fausett, sister of the bride, attended the bride, her frock being a dainty shade of pink silk crepe majestic, hand embroidered in pink and silver. A pretty hat toned with the ensemble. She carried a bouquet of aquelegias, roses and mauve and pink sweet peas. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. R. Brooks. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Lounge Tearooms, where 50 guests were entertained. The hostess, Mrs. Fausett, wore a gown of beige crepe de chine with hat to tone. Mr. and Mrs. Brooks left for their honeymoon, the bride travelling in a frock of bois de rose with hat to match. On their return they will take up their residence at Paeroa.

LAWSON—STRAUBEL,

The marriage was celebrated recently of Miss Truda Marion Straubel, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. M. Straubel, of Waotu, Putaruru, to Mr. Phillip B. Lawson, youngest son of Mrs. S. and the late Mr. S. Lawson, of Otorohanga.. The ceremony took place at the residence of the bride’s parents. The breakfastroom was decorated for the occasion, and the ceremony was performed on the verandah amid a setting of large fern and other trees. Rev. E. Warei ing, of Te Awamutu, officiated. 1 The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of soft white satin with uneven hemline and Bertha collar and panel of silver lace. Her embroidered veil was held in place with a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of lilies and azaleas. Miss Jessie Barnett, the bridesmaid, wore a frock of pink georgette and silver lace and a pale pink tulle veil. She carried a shower bouquet. Little Joyce Worth, niece of the bride, wore a frock of mauve taffeta trimmed with pink, and a pink hat. She carried a basket of lilac and Japanese cherry blossom. Mr. Ben Lawson was best man. The bride’s mother wore a frock |of navy silk marocain and hat to match. Mrs. S. Lawson, mother of the bridegroom, was in a grey costume with hat to tone.
