; MORRINSVILLE. There was an average yarding of stock at Dalgety and Company’s sale at Morrinsville on Friday, prices being on a par with late rates. There was an exceptionally keen demand for all classes of pigs, and the recent high prices were maintained. Prices for bulls lagged at the start, but there was increased competition as the sale progressed, and rates were on the whole fairly satisfactory. Prices were as follow — Beef.— * Fat cows £8 11s to £9 16s. Fresh-conditioned cows £6 10s to £7 6s. Jersey-cross heifer calves, well grown, £6 10s. Bulls.— Grade bulls £l2 l£s to £ls 15s. Others £5 5s to £7 7s. Dairy Cattle.— Jersey cows £lo\los to £ls. Jersey heifers £7 10s to £lO 10s. Pedigree Friesian heifers 8 to 94 guineas. Others £6 10s to £8 10s. Pigs.— Best slips" 34s to 395. ' WAIHOU. At the Farmers Auctioneering Co.’s sale at Waihou on Friday, there was a good yarding of stote cattle and pigs and a medium yarding of beef. The demand for all classes of cattle was good and late rates were fully maintained. Competition was exceedingly keen for porkers, good stores and weaners. Cattle.— Fat bullocks, £l4. • Fat cows, heavy, £lO to £ll ss; medium, £8 15s to £9 10s; light, £7 10s to £8 11s. Forward cows, £6 to £7 ss. Fresh store cows, £4 15s to £5 12s 6d. Store cows, £2 10s to £4. Three-year empty Jersey heifers, £4 5s to £5 16s. Yearling Jersey heifers, choice, £7 15s to £8 ss. Others, £5 7s 6d to £6 ss. S.H. heifers, to £4 15s. Yearling steers, to £4 9s. Pigs.— Heavy baconers, £4 to £4 6s; medium, £3 15s to £3 18s; light, £3 6s to £3 10s. MATAMATA. At the usual fortnightly sale conducted by Dalgety and Co. at the Matamata yards last Wednesday there was a good yarding of cattle, nearly all of which were sold. Fat pigs, yarded in small numbers, sold at late rates, while store and weaner pigs realised much improved prices. Beef.— Best fat cows, £9 17s to £ll 5?. Forward conditioned cows, £6 to £7 ss. , HAMILTON. At the Frankton sale on Tuesday an exceptional demand existed for good coloured beef stock, especially for Shorthorns, Herefords and Polled Angus. Prices for these lines were generally considerably higher than was anticipated. Cow beef was -slightly easier. Fat sheep quotations were on a par with late rates, while the rates for pigs were well up to those of previous sales. Prices were: Cattle.— Fat steers made £ls 13s to £l6 9s. Medium fat steers, £l3 7s to £l4 ss. Bight fat steers, £ll 14s to £l2 17s. . Fat cows, £9 14s to £lO 7s 6d. Medium fat cows, £8 13s to £9 10s. Forward conditioned cows, £6 5s to £8 7s 6d.
