MONTHLY MEETING.

The October meeting of the Putaruru W.D.P.U. took place on Saturday, when there were present : Mesdames H. Baldwin, W. Baldwin, Lloyd Lopdell, Saunders, Voyce, Karl, Robinson, Hollingshead, Sealey, McKeon, Snedden, Truss, Scott, Shine, Campbell, Rayner, Allwood, Dodd, Leslie and Walsh. Donations towards the rest room

fund included £8 from the Waotu members, £2 11s from Lichfield, and two donations of 10s and 5s from anonymous donors. Votes of thanks were accorded the ladies whose efforts resulted in the raising of the above sums. The Puketurua ladies . intimated that they intended giving a tennis afternoon in the near future in aid of the funds. The Tirau branch is to be consulted on the question of obtaining a local emergency housekeeper with a view to co-operation. After the conclusion of the business on the agenda paper afternoon tea was served and was followed by a discussion on harvesters’ lunches.
