Tokoroa.

Benedicts’ Ball. The benedicts of Tokoroa gave a return ball to the bachelors on Tuesday evening, when the hall was taxed to its utmost capacity. Excellent music was supplied by the Putaruru orchestra. The' M.’s C. were Messrs. ■A. Graydon and A. Sloper. The spot waltz was won by Mr. and Mrs. Butler. Miss Broad and Mr. H. Borchard won the Monte Carlo waltz. The waltzing competition was a feature of the evening and gave the judges, Miss George and Messrs. G. Benton and G. Ireland, something to do to decide the matter. They gave the verdict in favour of Mr. O. Haunsell and partner. An excellent supper was provided. Patrons voted the ball a huge success. - Farming.

The recent warm rains did an immense amount of good to the farm lands, and the supply at the factory has greatly increased. Four vats are in use and a fifth will be in operatnon in a few days. Everything points to a record season. Personal. Mr. H. H. Bryant was taken ill suddenly last week and had to be removed to the Rotorua Hospital. l atest reports state that there has been an improvement in his condition. J Mr. Fryer is also on the sick list, | being an inmate cf the Waikato Hospital. He is making satisfactory recovery.
