Putaruru. Mr. G. Farrelly, of Borneo, is at present a visitor to Putaruru. Mr. and Mrs. A. Scrimgeour spent a few days in Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Seton, of Auckland, are visiting friends at Mokai. Mrs.. A. Law, of Mokai, is spending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. K. McDermott. Mrs. Davis, of Auckland, is spending a few weeks with her sister, Mrs. Boyes, of Kensington street. Mr. and Mrs. F. Lawrence, of Arapuni, left for Auckland on Tuesday, en route for Honolulu. Mr, M. Taylor, of the Putaruru post office staff, has resumed duty after his annual leave. Mr. L. Davy has gone on his annual holiday. Mr. and Mrs. K. McDermott and Mrs. J. Francis motored to Auckland on Sunday to be present at the wedding of Miss E. Ibbotson and Mr. J. Christie, which took place on Monday.
Matamata. Dr. Laurenson, Matamata, is in Christchurch, where his brother lies very seriously ill. Mr. B. C. Taylor, Matamata, has been called to Christchurch owing to the serious illness of his mother. Mrs. Green and Miss Green, of Matamata, with Mrs. Lewis, of Hamilton, left by motor car on Thursday for Waihi beach, where they will spend a short holiday. 1 Morrinsville, Miss V. Brayshaw is spending a holiday at the Mount, Tauranga. Mrs. J. McNaughron has left on a short visit to Auckland. Miss Connie Campbell, Rotorua, paid a short vjsit to Morrinsville friends last week. Mrs. H. J. Wilcox and children, of Mangateparu, are spending a holiday at the Thames coast. . Mrs. D. Reid, Kereone, has returned from a short visit to Auckland. Mrs. Hamlin, of Auckland, is staying with her daughter, Mrs. D. Grubb, Mangateparu. Mrs. W. Cleghorn, of Orakei road, Remuera, is the guest of Mrs. B. O’Brien, Kiwitahi. Mr. and Mrs. Johnstone, Devonport, Auckland, are staying with Mrs. W. Johnstone, Mangateparu. Mrs. Chapman, Allen street, is spending a few days at Matamata. Miss Lloyd spent the week-end at Hamilton. Miss Marjory Dukes has been paying a short visit to Mrs. Starnes, the Manse, Morrinsville. Mr. and Mrs. A. Grigg have returned from their honeymoon, which was spent motoring in the Taranaki district. They have taken up their residence in Studholme street.
