r PUTARURU. Dalgety and Co.’s Putaruru sale on “Friday was marked by less than an average yarding, and prices were a shade easier than the ruling market. There was a satisfactory attendance, but bidding was inclined to drag. Prices were as follow: Cattle.— Bullocks, £ll 6s; smaller sorts were passed in. Empty cows in forward condition, £lO Is, £lO 17s Gd, £l2 7s; small sorts, £5 11s, £7 2s 6d, £8 ss. Dairy Cattle.— Heifers, £8 15s to £ll 10s. Sheep.— Ewes and lambs, 30s to 36s 6d. Hoggets, 28s 3d. Eat ewes, 28 s. v. Hoggets, mixed sexes, 19s lid, 21s. Pigs.— Good, 355. Small, 11s Id, 13s, 18s. Weaners, small, ss.
MATAMATA. Dalgety and Co. report having held their usual fortnightly sale at Matamata on Wednesday, when a fair yarding of beef and store cattle came forward and met with brisk competition, while a small yarding of pigs sold at late rates. Beef Cattle.— Prime fal lows, £lO to £ll 10s; others, £9 to £9 lss; lighter sorts, £<> 15s to £8 10s. f Good store cows, £6 to £7 15s; lighter sorts, £5 ,15s to £6. Jersey cows, £3 15s to £5. Cows with calves at foot, £7 11s i to £B. Empty 3-year Jersey heifers, £4 10s to £5 ss. Two-year Jersey-cross heifers, £5 19s to £6 13s; others, £3 10s to £5 15s. Jersey yearling heifers, £5 to £6 ss. Yearling Shorthorn heifers, £3 to £4 10s. Dairy Cows.— Best Jersey heifers, £l2 10s to £l4 ss. Shorthorn heifers, £9 10s to £ll 15s. MORRINSVILLE. There was a smaller yarding of stock than usual at Dalgety and Co.’s sale at Morrinsville on Friday. Prices were on a par with late rates ruling. Dairy Cattle met with keen competition. Prices were as follows: Beef. — Aged fat cows, £8 os to £8 15s. Light fat heifers, £7 2s 6d to £8 Is. Fresh cows, £6 5s to £7 10s. Store cows, £3 10s to £4 7s 6d. Cows and calves, £7 10s. Two-year empty heifers, £4 3s 6d to £5 11s. Yearling Jersey heifers, £5 2s 6d to £6 Bs. v Dairy Cattle.— Springing Jersey heifers, £ll to £l3 10s. Other heifers, £9 10s to £lO 15s. There was an exceptionally-good attendance at the Waihou stock sale on Friday. Bidding was fairly keen and brightened up in pig section, where prices were slightly in advance of late rates. There was a good allround yarding in all sections except for the sheep pens, where the yarding was practically nil. A heavy yarding of beef realised well, and dairy cattle', sold satisfactorily. Beef.— Heavy fat cows £ll 13s. Medium £9 15s to £lO 15s. Lighter sorts £8 to £9 10s. Forward cows £6 15s to £7 12s 6d. Fresh store cows £5 to £6 16s. Store cows £3 15s to £5. Others £8 to £9 15s. HAMILTON. At the Farmers’ Auctioneering Company’s ! sale at Frankton on Tuesday there' was an average yarding <Sf beef and a good yarding of fat sheep. Keen competition ruled throughout for good-quality beef, while mutton sold at lat.e rates. Store cattle and dairy cows were penned in more than average , numbers, and goodquality cows and heifers close to profit were keenly sought after. There was an average yarding of fat and
store pigs, which sold under keen competition, Baconers averaged 71d to—ed per pound, porkers 6id to 7d per pound. Stores and weaners showed a slight advance. Prices were:— Beef.— Prime fat bullocks £l7 to £lB. Medium fat bullocks £l6. Prime fat cows £ll 12s to £l2 16s. Medium fat cows £8 13s to £9 17s. Lighter £7 12s 6d to £8 10s.
