“ It’s all right. People here are generally honest,” replied a Wellington man the other day, when an American business man who is visiting the Empire City remonstrated with him for leaving his car unlocked at a parking place, states the Evening Post. The American was given striking proof that his friend knew what he was talking about. He lost £2O in Australian notes, and did not 1 discover that the money was missing until later. The loss was reported to the police, arid it was then found that the roll of notes, intact, had been “ turned in ” by a lift operator in one of the big city buildings.
