Okoroire.
Dance of the Season. Never before has the hall at the Okoroire Springs been so crowded as on Tuesday evening, when a grand ' fancy and plain costume dance was held in aid of hall funds. Musical extras were played by Miss E. " Brown. Mr. E. Gubb was M.C. There were many fine fancy costumes worn and the judges had difficulty in de- ' tiding on the best. However, the prizes were finally awarded to Mrs. F. Anderson, as a lady of the harem, for the best lady’s costume, and for the same section in the gentlemen’s division to Mr. F. Anderson, as an Indian rajah. Mr. and Mrs. F. Anderson also won prizes as the best pair. Miss Ruby Churchwood as a butterfly wore the prettiest costume. Mr. Mason, representing “ A Wild Man of Borneo,” won 'the prize for the most original representation. Much amusement was caused by Mr. B. Bragg, who, in a dainty evening frock, imitated a very modern flapper. Another amusing figure was Miss Williams as “ Miss Four-year-■J, old.” Indeed all the costumes were exceedingly clever and much credit is due to the makers and wearers - for the trouble taken. The evening W altogether was a great success, as can be seen from the amount of the proceeds, £26 11s 6d. _
