WELCOME HOME.

SUNDAY SCHOOL WORKER. Mr. and Mrs. Watkins Honoured The Methodist Sunday School room, was the scene of a pleasant little function on Wednesday afternoon, when the members of the Sunday school and several of their parents met to welcome home Mr. and Mrs. Watkins, who have just returned from their honeymoon. The hall was tastefully decorated with multi-coloured streamers, while above the door was a sign, “ Welcome Home,” indicating the nature of the function. Spring flowers made an appeal to all. Rev. H. Ashworth presided. After games and the opening devotional exercises Mr. Ashworth, in an appreciative speech, paid a tribute to the self-sacrificing work of Mr. Watkins as joint Sunday school superintendent and on behalf of those present welcomed the guests home not only to Putaruru but to the Sun-

day school, and also extended to Mr. Watkins and his bride the best wishes of all for their future happi-

ness. The speaker also added his good wishes for the future success of Mr. and Mrs. Watkins. Mr. Watkins, who was greeted with applause as he rose to respond, thanked them all on behalf of Mrs. Watkins and himself for the handsome gift and the good wishes. He had felt happy in Putaruru and he was very pleased to help in the Sunday school.
