BIRTHDAY PARTY.
MR. AND MRS. BATLEY. A large number of relatives and friends were present at “ Rushlands,” Tirau, last Monday evening, when a reunion birthday party was held in honour of Mr. and Mrs. Batley’s 72nd and 70th birthday anniversaries respectively. A very happy feature of the event was the presence of all Mr. and Mrs. Batley’s children and grandchildren, including Mr. and Mrs. de Willimolf and two sons, of Henderson, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley and six children from Matamata, Mr. and Mrs. Bear and five children, of Tirau, Mr. and Mrs. J. Batlcy and their two children, Mr. and Mrs. H. Wine and child, and Mr. Prank Batley. There were many other friends present to enjoy a jolly evening. Entertainment was provided by vocal and instrumental items, and dancing in which the children joined with enthusiasm. An excellent supper was enjoyed, while the fine birthday cake made and iced by Mrs. H. Wine was voted to be a delicious one. The happy party concluded with the singing of “ For Are Jolly Good Fellows ” and with wishing “ Mother ” and “ Dad ” many more happy years in the old home.
