CITY RE-CHRISTENED.

From January 1 next Norway’s third largest city, Trondhjem, is to be cal’ed Nidaros, as the former King O’.av Trygvason, called it 940 years ago. I* was decided by the Storthing (Pa?l'ament) by 59 votes to 52. The city's inhabitants had almost unanimous'y voted for the present name. In 1925, Norway changed the name of its capital from Christiana to Oslo, by which name it was known from 1048 until 1624.'
