LITERARY EVENING.

An enjoyable evening was spent at Mrs. Tulloch’s residence on Thursday, when Mr. E. M. Marshall, M.A., gave a lecture on “ English Poetry.” Mr. Marshall traced the history of poetry from the earliest times down to modern days, and he read many beautiful extracts. Those present included Misses McLaren, Barnett, Mesdames C. Alcorn, S. G. Barnett, Messrs. J. S. Reid, S. G. Barnett, J. C. Ross. Mrs. Tulloch entertained her guests to supper.
