COURTHOUSE IN PUTARURU.
PROVISION NEXT YEAR. For some time past the Putaruru Chamber of Commerce has been interesting * itself in a movement having as its aim the erection of a Courthouse and the establishment oi a monthly Court instead of’ bimonthly as at present. On the occasion of the last sitting of the Court in Putaruru in May a aepuuation waited on Mr. Paterson, S. and that gentleman promised ais co-operation in the matter. The chamber has received a letter from the Minister of Justice (Hon. T. The business transacted at the Putaruru Court during he past three years is given in the letter as follows: 1926. —Civil cases 243, criminal 165. 1927. —Civil cases 241, criminal 124. 1928. —Civil cases 181. criminal 114. The authority cannot be granted ihis year as the year’s commitments are already made, but if the business is maintained there is every prospfect of a Courthouse being authorised next year.
