Tirau.

Scout Dance. A very successful dance in aid of the Scout transport fund was held on Tuesday in the Tirau Hall, there being a crowded attendance. The dance was voted one of the best held for some time. The music was supplied by Shalfoon’s Orchestra. Mr. Bert Bragg was M.C. During the evening the Rev. Stephen Wareing, of Putaruru, returned thanks on behalf of the Scouts to those ladies who had worked so hard to make the evening such an outstanding success and the people for their wonderful patronage.

Mr. E. E. Hirst has received promotion, being appointed postmaster at Bulls. Mr. Hirst will leave next Tuesday. Mr. Robinson, of Marton, has been appointed as Mr. Hirst’s successor.
