(A COLUMN FOR THE PEOPLE) NEEDS OF FORESTRY WORKERS. (To the Editor). Sir, —We have read with pleasure the articles relating to the gigantic enterprise of the N.Z. Perpetual Forests. Anyone who has visited the carious camps will doubtless be impressed with the fact that there must be many hours of loneliness after work is over and the great need there must be for good literature. This has been very much impressed on my mind of late, that some scheme should be inaugurated whereby good clean literature can be placed in the hands of these workmen periodically. Arrangements have now been made whereby good literature in the form of books, magazines, periodicals, etc., can be left at Mr. J. W. Barr Brown’s or at the Methodist Parsonage, from whence it will be distributed from time to time. May I make the appeal on behalf of those who have not the opportunity of enjoying the honie life we enjoy. This scheme will be continued indefinitely.—l am, etc., HAROLD ASHWORTH. Methodist Parsonage.
