SURPRISE PARTY.
On Thursday evening a surprise party was given to Mr. and Mrs. J. Francis. The members of the party came representing books. Keen interest was taken in guessing the name of each book, the prize being won by Mrs. Francis. A competition was given on making the best telegram out of fourteen letters of the alphabet. Great amusement was caused as each telegram was read out, Mrs. C. Alcorn winning the prize. Amongst those present w"-e Mesdames Leggatt, Rolfe, McDermott, Alcorn, Rowe, Dukeson, Snell, Thompson, Misses Wright. Rolfe. Coupe, Messrs. Snell, Leggatt, Dukeson and Rolfe. A very pleasant evening terminated at midnight.
