TOO MUCH MONEY. That there is mere money in the Dominion than it can profitably employ is a claim which few countries I apart from the United States can ! make. Sir George Elliot suppleI mented this claim by remarking that : there are but few opportunities for the reasonable remunerative employment of surplus funds which are doing next to nothing to earn their keeji. Such a view will not meet with the endorsement of those who know the need for money to bring about the development of the natural resources cf the Dominion, nor the fact that a reduction in the rate of interest would increase the demand for capital. It is hard to : reconcile the difficulty in finding investments with the dislike of investj ors to loans on rural lands. The one thing that such a position emphasises is the wonder-G-fi financial recovery made by the Dominion. Morrinsville Star.
