MATAMATA. : There was a good average yarding >f cattle sold at late rates at the farmers’ Auctioneering Co.’s fortlightly sale held at Matamata on Wednesday. A heavy yarding of jigs sold on a par with late rates, lattle.— Fat cows, £8 10s to £9. Medium fat cows, £7 12s Gd to £8 ss. Light fat cows, £6 5s to £7. Forward conditioned cows, £5 2s \ 61 to £5 17s 6d. Store cows, £2 12s Cd to £4 14s. Jersey and Jersey-cross heifers,, close to profit, £lO 10s. Pigs.— Choppers, £2 11s to £4. Heavy baconers, £4 to £4 6s. Medium baconers. £3 13s to £3 18sLight baconers, £3 5s to £3 10s. Heavy porkers, £2 16s to £3 Is. Medium porkers, £2 4s to £2 11s. Light porkers, £1 10s to £2. Slips, 9s to 13s. Weaners, 4s to Ss.
MORRINSVILLE. There was an average yarding of” beef at the Farmers’ Auctioneering Company’s sale at Morrinsville on Friday, but the offering included noprime steers. Prices were slightly easier. Sheep sold under good competition, lambs being in keen demand. The yarding was an average one. There was only a small entry of dairy cattle. Pigs were well represented ar.d sold oh a parwith recent quotations. Competition was inclined to be slack. Prices were as follow: Beef.—
Medium fat cows, £7 10s to £8 7s 6d. Light fat cows, £6 12s to £7 os. Forward conditioned cows, £5 to £6 ss. Store cows, £2 12s to £4 15s. Cows with calves. £7 to £lO 6s. Jersey cross, Holstein and Ayrshire heifers, r.w.b., £3 12s 6d to £4 12s. Jersey and Jersev-cross heifer calves, £3 16s to £4 10s. Bulls for potting, £2 10s to £4 10s. Sheep.— Store and forward 'wethers. 28s to--295. Fat ewes, 28s. Forward ewes. 24s 2d to 265. Aged ewes, 14s 3d to 19s. Fat lambs, 26s to 295. Forward good framed lambs, 21s 3d to 255. .Cull lambs, 12s 6d to 14s 6d. Pigs.— Choppers, to £3 15s. Heavy baconers, £4 to £A Is. Medium baconers, £3 11s to £3 16sLight baconers, £3 to £3 Bs.
