BENEFIT DANCE.
HUGE SUCCESS. The dance organised by the Putaruru Football Club as a benefit to Mr. “ Mick ” Brown took place on Thursday evening, and can be written down as a distinct success. The hall was prettily decorated, and there was a large attendance, practically every district adjacent to Putaruru being represented,, a fact that spoke well for the regard in which the recipient is held by the people of the district, and for the reputation that dances organised by the Putaruru folk have gained in the hearts of the lovers of the light fantastic. The music was supplied by Shalfoon’s Melody Boys, a guarantee in itself th’at this department was up to requirements. Mr. C. D. Barr Brown, on behalf of the Brown family and the club, thanked all present for their hearty response to a worthy cause. . The supper was a feature of the evening, and dancing was continued until an early hour.
