PIG MARKETING.
FARMERS’ COMPANY. Doing Good Work. “ The inception of the pig-market-ing association was entirely due to the Farmers’ Union,” stated Mr. S. H. Judd, when speaking on the pigmarketing movement at the annual meeting of the Matamata branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union. Continuing, Mr." Judd stated that the association had handled 87,000 pigs this year, as against 27,000 last year. He advised farmers not to reduce their output of pigs because the market would harden. Pigs were decreasing in the United Kingdom and there were 3,000,000 less pigs in U.S.A. He prophesied that there would be an increase in the local value of bacon pigs. In moving- a vote of thanks to Mr. Judd for his address, Mr. Simpson stated that farmers owed a lot to the speaker for his keen personal interest. Those not in the association had benefited just as much as members.
