MOTOR ACCIDENT.

ON TIE AU ROAD. A fortunate escape from a serious •accident was experienced by Mr. Truelove and party, of Matamata, while returning by car after the football match last Saturday. After passing through Tirau Mr. Truelove mistook the turnoff where the Cambridge and Matamata roads meet arid ran straight into the low bank dividing the roads. Luckily the car held fast, though canted at a most dangerous angle, and the driver and passengers, Miss Truelove and a little boy, managed to scramble ■safely out, none the worse for their exciting experience. A rope was procured, and upon the arrival of several other ears the combined efforts of a dozen willing helpers and the engine of another car resulted in Mr. Truelove’s car being pulled from its perilous position without injury. Once on the road again Mr. Truelove was able to drive his car, which fortunately was undamaged, home.
