AN ASSORTMENT OF USEFUL HINTS.
Grease your pudding mould with fresh butter, even if you make the pudding itself with margarine The pudding will turn out more easily, and will be less liable to leave wasteful layers of itself adhering to the basin. Before making cakes and light puddings, warin the flour slightly to make sure that it is perfectly dry. The fakes and puddings will be lighter when cooked. When making house overalls, run elastic through a casing at the end of each sleeve and finish with a button ami loop to slip out for ironing. When buying rubber gloves for little household jobs, always get them a size or even two sizes larger than your ordinary glove-measurement s. They 'tvear incomparably longer. And never begrudge the extra moment or tw’o devoted to powdering the hands before slipping them on. It’s abundantly worth w r hi!e. Keep a visitor's “set” of necessaries in a special draw'er in your spare room. Everything to hand from sheets, pillow-slips, mats, to soap, towels, etc., so that all can be got-at right away for the unexpected but often infinitely welcome guest. Take care to air clean handkerchiefs before putting them away, just ns yon would air your undies. Any suspicion of dampness left in them will cause them to crumple easily.
