Stock Sales.

MORRINSVILLE. There was an extra-ueavy yarding of cattle and an average number of sheep at Dalgety and Company’s Morrinsville sale, held on Friday owing to Anzac Day falling on Thursday. There wa4 a large number of buyers, and the following rates were realised:— Cattle.— Fat heifers, £8 16s. Aged fat cows, £5 10s to £7. Light fat bullocks, £9 16s. Store cows, £3 5s to £4 10s. Two-year Friesian steers, £5 18s to £6 2s 6d. Jersey heifer calves, £4 5s to £5. Small calves, mixed colours, £2 2s to £3 10s. Sheep.— E%ves passed in at 26s 6d. M.S. black-faced lambs, 10s 10J. Pigs.— Weaners, 4s '6d to 9s. Slips, 14s. MATAMATA. The usual fortnightly sale conducted by Dalgety and Company was held on Wednesday, when there was a fair yarding all round. Prices were:— Cattle.— Fat cows, heavy, £9 15s. Medium, £6 9s to £7 15s. Light, £5 7s to £6. Stores, £3 10s to £4 15s. Pigs.— Baconers, up to £4 2s. Medium,-£3 15s. Lighter sorts, £2 10s. Porkers, £2 3s. Stores, 8s to 14s. Weaners, 5s to Bs. Sheep.— Fat ewes, 20s Cd. HAMILTON. At the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co.’s Frankton sale on Tuesday, there was an average yarding of beef and a smaller yarding of mutton. Beef was in keen demand, especially prime young fat cows. Fat wethers were also eagerly sought after and showed a slight advance on late sales. Pigs were yarded in large numbers and met with keen competition, prime fat baconers selling at equal to 6id to 63d per lb, while porkers brought 6d to 6ld. Cattle.— Heavy fat cows. £lO 16s to £ll 6s.
