TOKOROA FACTORY.

CONSIDERABLE INCREASE. The returns for the month of March of the Tokoroa cheese factory, with compafative figures for the same period for 1925, show a considerable increase. In March 627,354 pounds of milk was received, a& against 452,841 pounds for the month of March, 1928. The average milk test was 3.93, as against 4.11 for March, 1928. For March 24,709.33 pounds of butterfat was recorded, the March figures for 1928 being 18,618.14 pounds. The advance payout for March, 1928, was £1241, being at the rate of Is 4d per pound, whilst this year the March payout was £1750, at Is 5d per pound. Up to March 31 245 tons of cheese have been manufactured, which is well in advance of the previous best season, 1927-28, when 292 tons was turned out. In 1925-26 210 tons was manufactured, so that this season promises to easily eclipse all previous years.
