SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
TWO PEOPLE INJURED. Uorry and Motor Cycle Collide. , The Rutaruru-Arapuni road was, at a point about two and a-half miles out from Putaruru, tne scene of a serious accident on Friday afternoon. A motor lorry owned by Mr. J. W. Ross, of FXamilton, and driven by Mi'. E. Newton, of Putaruru, was coming- in from Arapuni "when at a rather bad bend a collision occurred with a motor cycle ridden .by Mr. F. Naylor, who had Mrs. Wilson on the rear of the cycle. It was immediately seen that the two cyclists were seriously injured, and medical aid was secured. The injured were ordered to the Arapuni Private Hospital, where they were operated on. Mrs. Wilson, who was the more seriously injured, was found to have sustained severe scalp wounds, nece- > ssitating the insertion of many stitches, and she was also suffering from concussion and shock. The full j ■ extent of her injuries, however, was not at once determinable. k Mr. Naylor also was suffering from scalp wounds, and he, too, was affect*ed with shock. After treatment at Arapuni they were conveyed by ambulance to the Waikato Hospital. The driver of the lorry escaped injury. The motor-cycle was somewhat badly damaged.
