PUTARURU CLUB. Annual Meeting. A large attendance, auguring well for a successful season, marked the

annual meeting of the Putaruru Rugby Football Club, held on Monda y evening. Mr. J. W. Barr Brown presided. The balance-sheet disclosed a credit balance of £3 10s Sd. ( The annual report stated that a most successful season had eventuated, the club winning the competition and knock-out cups. The conduct of the teams had been most exemplary, but the dressing of the teams on the field called for improvement. Both documents were adopted. The election of officers resulted : Patron, Mr. A. G. Leggett ; president, Mr. W. Yandle : vice-presidents, Rev. Wareing, Messrs. Thompson, F. C. Barnett, A. E. Barr Brown, W. Miller and S. J. Parker ; management committee, Messrs. C. D. Brown, A. C. Thompson, Ensor and Paterson ; secretary and treasurer, Mr. T. Merton ; club captain, Mr. A. C. Thompson : delegates to the union, Messrs. Thompson, J. W. Barr Brown and C.

D. Brown ; auditor, Mr. 11. C. Wheeler ; selector, Mr. A. C. Thompson. The matters of a junior team and selector was left over until the next general meeting. A discussion took place on the fielding of two teams, Lichfield representatives stating that they were thinking of linking up with Tokoroa. A sub-committee consisting of Messrs A. C. Thompson, W. Dunlop, C Fraser and the secretary was set up to go into the matter. The subscription was fixed at ss. It was decided to donate £2 2s towards tbe training shed. A sub-committee consistm-r o x ; Messrs. J. Schofield. D. Rolfe, J. Dewse and the secretary, with powei to add, was appointed to go into the question of raising funds for jerseys. Rev. Wareing was appointed manager of the third grade team and it was decided that this team be entered in tbe Matamata Rugby Union’= , competition. LICHFIELD 17, PUTARURU 5. The above teams met at Putaruru during' the week-end, Litchfield running our, the winners by 17 to 5. For Lichfield tries were scored by R

Dunlop, Rolfe, Harrison and Hal'ott, C. Fraser converting one of the tries and R. Dunlop kicking a penalty goal. Collins scored for Putaruru, Currie converting. Mr. C. Snell was referee.
