Queen Carnival. In spite of the many other entertainments on the same night there was a very good attendance at the dance held on Thursday in honour of the Blue Queen (Miss Muriel Seelly), who represents the sweets stall. Music was supplied by an orchestra consisting of Mrs. Maud (piano), Messrs. V/. Tisch (violin), B. Wheel,er (clarionet.) and B. Tisch (saxophone). Extras were playc-d on the panatrope, which was lent for the occasion by Mr. D. Mclsaac, who jmade a very capable M C. The prise for a guessing competition—a beautiful tea cosy—was won by Miss Myrtle Robinson, of Te Aroha. Supper arrangements were in the hands of the committee, Mrs. A. Rowe and Miss Germann, who were ably assisted by Mesdames Sweetman and Seelly. Personal. Mrs. Horgan, with her family, of Waipukurau, Hawke’s Bay, is spending a holiday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. McKenzie Scott. Miss Zillah Morion, of Palmerston North,, is visiting her uncle, Mr. Henry Moore. Miss Kathleen Murrav recently paid a short visit home, but has returned to Matakana.

Mr. and Mrs. D’Arcy Andrews, of Auckland, are visiting this district, and are guests of Mr. G. Conder. Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Stevenson, of Rotorua, who recently had the misfortune to lose their home hv fire, are residing temporarily with Mr. J. Beeby. Mr. W. McConnell and h’s daughter. Miss E. McConnell, are the guests of Mr. J. Calder.

Miss Lucy Cowan is visiting her parents. Miss Florence Settle is suffering from influenza, and has been confined to bed for several days. Her friends wish her a snesdy recovery. We congratulate Mr. F. Richmond on his further successes at Cambridge Show, his horse Lorna Dene again securing two first prizes.
