LAST YEAR’S CAB.
MORE PERMANENCE GE STYLE, Little Difference for 1929. There are many signs in Detroit that a style which will be permanent for at least the life of a car’s engine has almost been developed. Work along this line is continuous and intelligent. ' Its progress makes for stability in the industry and benefits the buyer as well. “ Last year’s ” car is no longer grotesque. In seme cases the differences between last year’s model and 1929 are so minor that it takes a critical examination to pick them out. This tendency is increasing, and its effect is highly beneficial. If the manufacturers could ever come to a definite agreement as to the date for bringing out new models it would be a boon. Under the present system of individual dating the public is kept in a constant state of wariness, feeling that to-day’s car may be supplanted by a new model without warning. And the man who finds his “ new ” car “ old ” almost overnight is bound to feel that he has been made to suffer.
