HEAVY TRAFFIC FEES.

ANOTHER DISPUTE. The Hamilton Borough Council advised the Matamata County Council that as several of the town boards were not prepared to accept the present basis of allocation of heavy traffic fees it would be necessary to again apply to the courts for an order for 1929-30. The clerk explained that some of the town boards were not satisfied. The chairman remarked that everyone was against them. A large number of licenses were taken out within town areas, but the lorries ran over county roads. It was just a fluke that they lived within the town areas. On the motion of Cr. Cox, Mr. C. F. E. Barton (clerk) was appointed to represent the council. Cr. Judd: Request that town boards be charged with the cost of the enquiry. | The clerk pointed out there had never been an allocation in regard to court costs. Cr. Cox: We have never been asked to pay court costs and we had better not say anything about them.
