MODERN FURNITURE.
A bolster and a yard or two of metal tubing, and here you have the latest in furnishings now popular in Paris. This most modern article of furniture boasts nothing superfluous, not a single frill or furbelow, even the bolster being of plain leather. Its merits are that it is light, easy to move and accumulates no dust. Experts declare that this furniture marks the beginning of a new epoch in household life. The modern woman, shingled, short skirted, eager for change, is out of harmony with the old ways of life. Gone are the days of the heavy rosewood suite and the much-prized mahogany tables and sideboards. The metal tube furniture is light and easy to handle, and as the fashion develops and the craze for elimination continues the pantechnicon will be a thing of the past, and the whole of the furnishings conveyed to a new residence will travel under the hood of the family car.
