MATAMATA SHOW.

LARGE ATTENDANCE. Opened by Minister, v All round success attended tlie Eighteentn Annual Snow held by tne Matamata A. and P. Association on Tuesday. Good entries were receiveu —in most classes, and fine weather hati * its effect on drawing a numerous attendance. The Hon. W. B. Taverner, Minister of r.anways, Mr. ±l. it. Mr. Clinkard stressed the need of intensive development of land and the bringing in of new areas. Mr. Taverner said the marvellous development of Matamata had been an ■eye-opener to him. It was a magnificent tribute to the policy of the liberal Government which cut the Firth Estate up for settlement 23 years ago. (Applause).
