INTER-CLUB GAMES. Last week-end two Matamata and one Tirau rink visited Putaruru, the scores being as follows, the home players being mentioned first in each instance:— Berry, Hudson, Palmer, Francis (s) 24 v. Bear, Hope, Jolly, Watson (s) 22. . ! Hamilton, C. S. Snell, King, Leggatt (s) 20 v. CrickeU, Brunton, McIntyre, Oates (s) 21 4 Yandle, Rolfe, Murphy, Hollard (s) 26 v. Cockhead, Pulling, Barnes, Stewart (s) 31. CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH. A surprising victory was gained by Yandle over Leggatt in the championship series organised by the Putaruru club. The score was Yandle 21 v. Leggatt 17. GOLDFIELDS STARS. Paeroa Retains Trophies. Morrins ville’s challenge for the Goldfields Stars was played against the holders, Paeroa, at Paeroa on Saturday. Paeroa had defeated Te Aroha a fortnight previously. The result on Saturday was a win for the holders by 19—11.

Morrins ville’s rink was not as selected, the original choice by Mr. Donald being Sanders, Yardley, Bint, Cornish (s). Three of these were not available, so that the rink which did duty was Martin, Chapman, Cornish, Branch (s). Paeroa was represented by Hall, Brockel, Chamberlain, Mitten (s).

The green was not all that could be desired, the players finding ridges which prevented the bowls taking Uv true bias. This of course affected both rinks, so that the Morrinsville defeat could not be put down to that. However, the conditions were strange.

The game opened with a 2 to Morrinsville, to which Paeroa replied with two l’s. Paeroa got a 3 on the six, which was helpful and put them three in the lead. There was only a point between them at the finish of the tenth head but from this Out Paeroa drew away to be 17—9 on the 17th. Morrinsville got a*2 on the 18th but did not score again, Paeroa getting l’s on the two last heads.
