The Thorn was two lengths and a half behind Ti Tree in third position and then came Cynthia N, Sleepy Sol, Te Koroki, Archeen, Tinoiti and High Pitch. The time, 1.40 2-5, was good for the course and shows Prince Lu up as a seven-furlong or mile horse to be respected. The distance was a furlong too far for Cynthia N.
