“EVELYN” AS A NAME.
Evelyn is not uncommon as a man’s name, but it is so much commoner as a woman’s name that one instinctively supposes anyone bearing it to be a woman (says a London “Evening News” writer). Mr. Evelyn Garth Moor, younger son of his Honour Judge Moor, passed his bar final examination the other day only to find himself referred to as the only woman in the list cf successful candidates.
Mr. Evelyn 'Wjaugh, the novelist brother to Mr. Alic Waugh, the novelist, and Mr. Evelyn Graham, Princess Mary’s brother, are two Evelyns commonly referred to as “she” by innocent readers.
