The following story is vouched for: “ A Wellington girl who married recently has a dog a few months old which she had since he was six weeks old. He has never been worked, is a great pet, the progeny of a pedigree mother and a not so aristocratic father—good stock dogs both. The sister in charge of a nursing home close by has chickens—some black and some white. The pup evidently did not like the mixture, for he separated them—black on one hand, white on the other, and then lay and grinned at them. A gentleman attracted by the squawking watched the performance, and none of the birds was injured.”
