Stock Sales.
MATAMATA. The weekly stock sale at Matamata on Wednesday was conducted by Dalgety and Co., Ltd. There was a fair average yarding of store cattle, including 130 Jersey and Jerseycross weaner heifer calves. Prices:— Fat heifers, I*6 1"s to £3 15s; fat cows, £8 4s to £9 2s; others, £7 16s; one pen Jersey cross heifers in good condition £5 ss, others £o 1. s, smaller sorts £2 14s; weaner Shorthorns, £4 2s 6d; Jersey heifers, r.w.b., £5 2s. Pigs.—Heavy baconers, £3 4s to £3 6s 6d; medium baconers, £2 18s to £3 2s; porkers, £2 9s to £2 15s; light porkers, £3ss to £2 2s; large stores, 28s to 32s 6d; slips, 15s to 225; weaners, 10s to 15s. MORRINSVILLE. There was a small yarding of cattle at Dalgety and Company’s sale at Morrinsville on Thursday, all changing hands at satisfactory prices. Pigs were yarded in large numbers and competition throughout was keenPrices ruling equalled those of last sale. The line of Jersey heifer calves ; advertised attracted buyers from outside districts and competition was brisk, one pen of 10 selling at to £•> 7s. Prices were:— ’ Beef.—Fat cows £8 5s to £9 ; light Shorthorn heifers £6 15s ; forward—- * conditioned cows £5 15s 6d to £6 15s , ’ cows in calf £6 5s to £7 10s ; Jersey heifer calves £5 Is to £5 7s ; small 1 Jersey-cross heifer calves £3 7s 6d f to £3 15s ; dairy springing heifers S £9 10s.
Pigs.—Porkers 36s to 45s ; stores 24s to 28s 6d ; weaners 9s to 16s 6d. Sheep.—Fat lambs 235.
