PUTARURU HIGH SCHOOL.

ITS STEADY GROWTH. The secondary department of the Putaruru District 11-gh School opened on Monday with a roll number of 34 pupils. These are drawn from Putaruru and the surrounding districts— Tapapa, Mangatapu, Te Whetu, Mamaku, Lichfield and Puketurua all being represented.

Mr. E. M. Marshall, 8.A., is temporarily in charge of the high school classes, the permanent staffing depending upon the average attendance. An average of 31 will entitle the secondary department to two assistants, and parents and scholars will appreciate the tremendous advantage of having the additional help. It will be a great pity if the district cannot avail itself of the opportunity that now presents itself.
