The New Zealand Meat Producers Board has received the following cable from its London office, dated January 25, 1929, advising Smithfield delivered prices averaged for week ending that date "as follow:
N.Z. Wethers and Maidens.-—Can-terbury quality, selected brands, 561 b and under 7d, 571 b to 641 b 61d, 651 b to 721 b 6ld ; other brands, 561 b and under 6id, 571 b to 641 b 6id, 651 b to 721 b 6d.
N.Z. Ewes.—64lb and under sid. N.Z. Lambs.—Canterbury quality (old season), 361 b and under 9id, 371 b to 421 b 9id, seconds 72d ; selected brands (new season), 361 b and under lOlid, 371 b to 421 b lOad ; other brands (new season): first quality, 361 b and under lOld, 371 b to 421 b loid ; second quality, 301 b to 321 b average 9id. Australian Lambs.—Victorian, first quality, 361 b and under 9d, 371 b to 421 b 9d.
Argentine Lambs. First quality, 861 b and under 81d, 371 b to 421 b Bd. N.Z. Beef.—Ox hinds sd, cow fores 3ld, cow hinds 41d. Argentine Chilled Beef. l —Ox fores 4«d, ox hinds 61d. N.Z.
