. PUTARURU CLUB. General Meeting. A general meeting of the Putaruru club was held on Monday, Mr. S. J. . Panton presiding. The secretary reported having received donations from the following : Messrs. H. B. Coupe £2 2s, A. H. - Xhikeson senior £1 Is, S. J. Parker £1 Is, O. Jones £1 Is, F. C. Barnett" JOs 6d. On the motion of the chairman a hearty vote of thanks was accorded these gentlemen for generous support. : j The secretary Reported that outing to fack of attendance; by members at meetings and-., matches the selector had resigned,-ind’ th 4; rijain question to be decided was whether the club was to be earned on. r The chairman said hi felt sure there were. sufficient players in the town and it was mainly a question
of canvassing. After further discussion it was decided that the club carry on and that Mr. Griffiths approach the selector with a view to him retaining his position. Failing success in this direction, Messrs. Paxton, Dewse and Roberts were appointed a selection committee. ARAPUNI V. TE AWAMUTU. These teams met at Arapuni and the visitors secured ah easy victory by 139 runs. Te Awamutu scored 214 for eight wickets, Smith making 65, and Arapuni replied with a total of 75, Harris making 27. The sides were captained by McNeill (Arapuni) and Barhett (Te Awamutu). For the visitors Barnett bowled best, while Prosser was the home team’s most successful trundler.
