SERIOUS ACCIDENT.

FOOTBALLER INJURED. As the result of a collision between a motor-cycle ridden by Mr. M. Brown and a car driven by Mr. F. Batley, on Thursday, the former received a compound fracture of the right leg. It appeal's .that Mr. Brown was returning from work about 5.80 p.m., and collided with the car on a bad bend at the top of Overdale road. The leg was broken both below and above the knee, and after receiving medical attention Mr. Brown was conveyed to Waikato Hospital that evening. Mr. Brown is a well-known member of the Putaruru Rugby Club, and has played for the representative team on several occasions, and bail jjKply recently recovered from an in’j&y sustained at the end of last sensor. when a rib was broken.
