Stock Sales.

MORRINSVILLE. An extra heavy yarding of all classes of stock came forward at the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co.’s sale at Morrinsville on Friday. The offering of beef was the largest this year and the quality was as good as could be met with anywhere in the Waikato. There was a particularly fine entry of ox beef, w,hich made equal to late Westfield quotations of 45s per 1001 b. The market was generally firm. A good yarding of yearling heifers changed hands, though prices were below those ruling formerly. A hundred bullocks sold readily under keen competition. Sheep were firm at late rates, and the market for store and weaner pigs showed a rising tendency. The entry of pigs was a full one, though fats were not so numerous as usual. The quality of the dairy stock offered was not good and the market was easier. Prices were as follows: —

At the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co.’s Putaruru sale on Friday there was a full yarding of all classes pf stock, all of which was cleared at late rates. The b«ef yarded was very plain, but met with fair competition. Quotations:- — Beef and Store Cattle.—Light fat cows £8 7s 6d to £9 19s, plain and unfinished sorts £6 7s 6 1 to £7 12s; fresh stores £4 13s to £5 4s; forward conditioned 2i to 3-year store steers, £8 16s to £lO, poorer conditioned £7 15s to £7 18s; best quality Jersey and Jersey-cross yearling heifers, £5 11s to £6 ss.

Dairys.—Cows, close up, £8 to £9 10s; Jersey and Jersey-cross heifers, springing £7 10s to £8 ss; backward sorts, £4 10s to £6 ss; bulls for service,* 2-year Jersey. £IQ to £1?; yearling Jerseys, £5 5s to £7 10s; 2year Shorthorns, £lO to £l2 10s; yearling Shorthorns, £4 to £4 15s. ewes and lambs, £2 to £2 3s; medium hoggets, 30s. Pigs.—Slips, 20s to 21s 6d; best weaners, 16s; Tamworth cross sows, in pig, £2 15s to £3, others £2 5s to £2 10s. HAMILTON. At the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co.’s Frankton sale on Tuesday, there was a good yarding of fat cattle, a small entry of mutton, and pigs were penned in average -numbers. Ox beef was firm at advanced rates; prime cow and heifer beef sold up to late values. Fat sheep sold under keen competition at advanced prices. Fat pigs sold as usual, while good stores and slips were keenly competed for. Beef.—Prime good quality light weight steers £l4 5s to £l4 15s; extra prime fat heifers made up to £l2 15s; heavy prime fat cows, £l3 5s to £l3 7s 6d, other fat cows‘£9 16s to £lO 16s, unfinished and plain, £8 5s to £8 17s 6d; store cows, £3 6s to £3 15s; yearling Jersey cross heifers, £310s to £3 19s.

Best dairy cows, close to profit £l2 10s to £l4, others £7 5s to £lO 15s; good Jersey cross heifers, well forward £lO to £ll, inferior £5 to £8 10s. Sheep.—Heavy prime shorn wethers, 355; prime wethers in wool, 44s 9d; prime shorn fat ewes, 27s 9d; extra good prime heavy woolly hoggets, £2 ss, medium sold to 355; spring lambs made up to 345.
