GYMNASTIC DISPLAY.

A very pleasant evening was spent at the Putaruru Methodist Bible Class Hall on Tuesday, when a good company met together to witness a gymnastic display given by the members of the Gymnastic Club. Under the guidance of their trainers, Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Flyger, the young people have made amazing progress, and the audience was delighted with the various exercises performed. Intermingled with the drill items were songs by Miss M. Thompson and Mrs. Ashworth and recitations by Misses E. and W. "Wheeler and Mr. Jack Baldwin.

The public of Putaruru are greatly indebted to Mr. and Mrs. Flyger for their kindly interest in the young people in the giving of their time and energies so freely and ungrudgingly. That this is appreciated by their pupils was evidenced by the fact that during the evening the class presented Mr®. Flyger with a pair of vases and Mr. Flyger with an eversharp pencil. Miss N. Benton and Mr. J. Baldwin made the presentations. Special mention was also made of the work of Miss Jean Flyger in holding a class for younger boys and girls. As this was the last meeting of the winter season Rev. Ashworth spoke a few words in appreciation of the work and was seconded by Mr. D. D. Sneddon.
