MORRINSVILLE BULL SALE. At the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co.’s bull sale at Morrinsville on Thursday a good entry of all breeds came forward. Although prices were not equal to previous sales, practically the whole yarding changed hands at satisfactory rates. The following pedigree Jersey bulls were sold:— Stallange Thorne Jim, 20 guineas; Jersey Brae’s Progress, 26 guineas; Miro’s Money Maker, 19 guineas; Glen Briar Hero, 19 guineas. A pedigree Shorthorn hull, on account of Mr. A. I. Walker, realised 191 guineas. Prices for other hulls were as follow: 2, 3 and 4-year old pedigree Jersey bulls, 12 guineas to 16 guineas; 1-year-old pedigree Jersey bulls, 10 guineas to 19 guineas; pedigree Friesian bulls, 12 guineas to 17i guineas; grade Jersey bulls, £l2 to £l6; 1-year grade Jersey bulls, £7 10s to £ll 10s; 1-year Shorthorn grade bulls, £8 to £ls; bulls fo- ixport, £6 10s to £8 Bs. TIRAU. The Farmers’ Auctioneering Company held its Tirau stock sale on Thursday, when an average yarding of cattle was penned. Quotations: — Beef.—Cows and heifers, fat £lO 7s 6d to £ll, medium £8 5s to £9 Is, light £E to £7 12s 6d, forward £6 to £6 12s 6d ; store cows, good £4 17s 6d to £5 10s, others £3 7s 6d to £4 12s ; yearling steers (small) £3 ; yearling heifers, Jersey and Jersey cross, good quality, £5 Bs' to £6 2s 6d ; yearling heifers, others, £4 to £4 14s ; two-year empty heifers £5 15s ; Jersey bulls £lO 15s to £l2, others £4 to £lO 10s.

MORRINSVILLE. There was another good yarding of beef cattle at the Farmers’ Auctioneering Company’s sale at Morrinsville on Friday. A fine entry of two pens of ox beef on account of Mr. C. Stewart, Tahuna, was a feature, and the stock met with a good demand, the average price being £l7. The market for other lines was slightly easier. Prices for sheep were also easier. A large yarding came forward but the bidding was not spirited. There was little demand for baconer and porker pigs and prices showed' a declining tendency. Few weaners were yarded and the total entry was below that of last sale. The market was firm for bobby calves. Prices were as follow:

Beef.—Heavy fat steers £l6 17s to £l7 6s; medium steers £ls 9s to £l6 10s, lighter £l3 17s to £l4 7s, unfinished £l2 10s ; heavy fat cows £lO 10s to £ll 7s 6d, medium £8 Is to £9 2s 6d, lighter £6 15s to £7 10s, forward conditioned £5 5s to £6 2s 6d ; store cows £3 5s to £4 16s ; fat heifers £6 16s to £8 9s ; cows with calves £6 to £6 12s 6d ; 2i-year steers to £6 15s ; two-year Shorthorn heifers £5 5s to £5 16s ; two-year good-quality empty Jersey heifers £5 5s to £6 5s ; yearlings £5 5s to £6 19s ; yearling Shorthorn heifers, good quality, £5 to £5 5s ; smaller yearling Jersey heifers £3 to £4 ss. Bobby Calves.—Best 13s 6d to 16s ; others 8s to 12s 6d. Dairy Cattle.—Choice heifers close to profit to £l6, others £lO 5s to £l2 10s, more backward £6 to £7 15s ; cows, best £ll to £l2 3 os, more backward £9 to £lO 10s, inferior sorts £4 10s to £7 10s.

Pigs.—Medium baconers £2 18s to £3 3s ; light baconers £2 8s to £2 15s ; heavy porkers £2 Is to £2 6s ; light porkers £1 11s to £1 18s ; good stores 28s to 34s ; slips 13s 6d to 21s ; weaners 8s to 12s. Sheep.—Heavy fat ewes 37s ; fat wethers to £2 ; fat hoggets, extra prime to £2 13s, others 33s to 36s ; ewes with lambs and to lamb 33s 6d to 37s Sd ; ewes and wether hoggets to 31s ; store ewes 255.

MATAMATA. Dalgety and Co. held their regular stock sale at Matamata on Wednesday, in very stormy weather. Beef Cattle.—Fat cows, £6 5s to £9 15s; forward conditioned cows, £5 5s to £7 15s; stores, £3 15s to £4 2s 6d; yearling Jersey heifers, up to £6; yearling Jersey-cross, £4 6s to £5 ss; yearling bulls, £8 to £lO 15s; Ayrshire bulls, £lO 10s to £l7 10s; Shorthorn bulls, £6 6s to £9; Holstein bulls, £B. Dairies.—Jersey heifers, £8 to £10; dairy cows, £7 to £l2. Pigs.—Best slips, 14s to 17s; small stores, 225. HAMILTON. At the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co.’s Frankton stock market on Tuesday, there was a good yarding of fat and store cattle, sheep and pigs. Prime beef maintained late values, rough and plain being a little easier. Fat sheep were firm at late quotations, and all classes of store cattle

were in demand. Fat and store pigs sold well up to late ruling rates. Prices were: — Beef. —Medium fat steers, £l3 5s to £l3 7s; well done light steers, £2l 17s 6d to £l2 15s; prime heavy fat cows and heifers, £l3 10s to £l4 17s 6d; prime medium weights, £ll to £l2 10s; lighter £9 10s to £lO 10s; plain and unfinished cows, £7 to £8 2s 6d; good framed store to freshconditioned cows, £5 5s to £6 16s; boner cows, £3 15s to £4 17s 6d; fresh conditioned 4-year steers, £lO 2s to £11; low conditioned 3 and 4-year bullocks, £8 to £8 10s; 2 to 3-year steers, £6 10s to £7 10s; choice yearliftg Jersey heifers, £7 to £7 ss; Jersey cross, same age, £3 15s to £5. Dairy cows, close to profit, £lO to £ll 15s; cows in milk, £7 to £9 10s; inferior, £5 to £6 10s.

Sheep:—Extra prime heavy ewes and wethers, £2 5s to £2 7s; fat wethers, £2 2s to £2 5s 6d; lighter, 38s to £2; shorn fat wethers, 345; prime hoggets, 34s to 375. Pigs.—Heavy baconers, £3 4s to £3 11s; light baconers, £2 14s to £3; heavy porkers, £2 8s to £2 15s; light porkers, £2 to £2 ss; slips, 18s to £1 4s; weaners, 8s to 16s; large stores, £1 8s to £1 14s.
