Heavy frosts were experienced on two recent evenings and these played havoc with most gardens in the district. The fine weather had induced gardeners to believe in an early season, but potatoes and tomates - especially will now be late. Tennis. The Tiiau Tennis Club was to have held its official opening last Saturday, but the inclement weather caused a postponement. The opening is being held to-day. Personal. Mrs. J. Stewart is on a holiday visit to Auckland. Miss Myra Monk is the guest of Mrs. W. D. Fraser. Mrs. Kelly (nee Miss Elsie Hamlin), of Te Aroha, was on a visit to her parents at Tirau this week. Mr. R. Naysmith is spending his holidays at Whangarei.
