The New Zealand Meat Producers Board has received the following cable from its London office, dated October 5, 1928, advising Smithfield delivered prices averaged for week ending that date as follow: N.Z. Wethers and Maidens.—Canterbury quality, selected brands, 561 b and under 70d, 571 b to 641 b 7id, 651 b to 721 b 62d ; other brands, 561 b and under 73d, 571 b to 641 b 7d, 651 b to 721 b 63d. N.Z. Ewes.—64lb and under 53d. N.Z. Lambs.—Canterbury quality, 361 b and under 103 d, 371 b to 421 b 103 d, 431 b to 501 b 93d, seconds 93d ; selected brands, 361 b and under 102 d, 371 b to 421 b 103 d ; other brands : first quality, 361 b and under lOd, 371 b to 421 b lOd ; second quality, 301 b to 321 b average 93d. N.Z. Beef.—Ox fores 4d, ox hinds 53d, cow fores 3id, cow hinds sd. Argentine Chilled Beef.—Ox fores 43d, ox hinds 63d. Frozen Pork.—Porkers, 601 b to 801 b 73d, 811 b to 991 b 73d, 1001 b to 1201 b 73d ; baconers, 1211 b to 1801 b 73d. Lamb and Mutton.—Market is dull and depressed by heavy pitchings of Home-killed meat.
Beef.—Market quiet but steady. N.Z. Porker Pigs.—Market is easier owing to heavier supplies of Homekilled. N.Z. Baconer Pigs. Stocks exhausted, nominal prices. Lamb and Mutton. Dalgety and Company have received the following cablegram from their London house, dated October 4:—

New Zealand Frozen Mutton.—4Blb to 561 b, Canterbury 73d, North Island 73d; 561 b to 641 b, Canterbury 7id, North Island 73d ; 641 b to 721 b, Canterbury 7d, North Island 7d ; 481 b to 641 b, Canterbury 53d, North Isjand 53d. New Zealand Prime Ox Beef.— Hinds 53d, fores 4d. Argentine Chilled. Hinds 73d, fores 42d. The market for hinds is weaker and the market for fores is firmer. Pork. —English, 801 b to 1001 b, 9d ; N.Z. Porkers, 801 b to 1001 b 73d, 1001 b to 1201 b 7id.
