WAIKATO MARKET REPORT. The Farmers’ Auctioneering Co. report as follows on the Waikato stock market:— Beef.—There has been no change in the market; good yards continue to come forward with prices still firm, best ox making 45s per 1001 b, and cow and heifer 40s. Fat Sheep.—Competition is keen for both wether and ewe mutton, with improved prices since our last report. Store Sheep.—The yardings of all classes have been small with a good demand for ewes and lambs, hoggets and wethers. Store Cattle.—There is a shortage of all classes of stores and a strong demand exists, especially for young and grown male cattle. A considerable number have been railed from North Auckland to fill requirements. Good yearling Jersey and Jersey-cross heifers are also meeting with keep competition. Dairy Cattle.—Good cows and choice springing hoifers are still in demand at high prices.
Pig's.—Heavy yardings continue to come forward, especially stores. Baconers and porkers are making equal to 5d per lb; good stores are selling well, but weaners are still very low. Horses.—Since the spring fair there has been little doing in the horse trade.
